Entry: Walks Like a Lame, Lying Sack of Duck Sunday, September 28, 2008

Yet another one to file under "Why won't the media actually cover the news?":

The following tawdry tidbit is courtesy of Breitbart.com:

New details emerged of a remarkably tumultuous White House meeting on the bailout Thursday. With the session breaking up in disarray, according to two participants, Bush issued an appeal, saying, "Can't we just all go out and say things are OK?" The group around the table, congressional leaders as well as McCain and Obama, spurned the request. The participants spoke on condition of anonymity because the meeting was private.

In a remarkable - and, sadly, unremarkable - show of cowardice, the Washington Post scrubbed this detail from their coverage of the meeting, though it had originally ben part of their story. Buncha lickspittles in the Fourth Estate, these days.

Thanks to Democratic Underground for bringing the self-censorship in question to my attention.

People need to realize that their jobs are not secure, so acting like a spineless collaborator of deceit doesn't do anything.

The world is changing and the old media information gatekeepers are losing their relevance.
